Clearly the authority of the Legislative Branch has been illegally usurped, but our remedial mechanisms of prosecution are in the Executive Branch. While the Executive Branch is breaking the law, the Legislative Branch is controlled by the same party as the Executive Branch; hence, the Legislature is complicit in the crime and has not complained sufficiently. Perhaps our checks and balances are unchecked and
unbalanced. Those need revisiting and reset. Would you not say that at the very least?
Sounds like our US History high school curriculum is failing to teach Gen Z why the US has taken the lead in world affairs for the past 80 years. Those of us who had fathers and uncles who fought and died fighting against fascism in WWII, and every citizen who sacrificed during 5 years of rationing, and who were part of the home front war effort understands why its nescessary. Pro tip: our government and our people knew what Hitler and Mussolini were up to in the 30's with designs to take over Europe. We also knew that Stalin starved 10 million people to death in Ukraine in the 1930's. And we also knew about the Japanese "Rape of Nanking". Our "America First" policy of the 30's kept us from intervening until it was too late and lead to WWII costing millions of lives more, including the Holicost than had we nipped fascism in the bud.
